Children's Ministry Director
Requirements for this position:
• A born-again child of God.
• A Baptist fully agreeing with our BMAA doctrinal statement, willing to join our fellowship as a member of MFBC.
• Commitment to personal loyalty to the Pastor, each member of the staff and Ministry Leaders.
• Personal dress and appearance appropriate to the business and ministry of the Church.
• Personal integrity and self-motivation in the fulfillment of ministry.
Responsible to:
• Jesus Christ as Head of the Church.
• The Pastor as the Shepherd and Overseer of the Flock.
• The Church Body.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
• Priority One is the spiritual growth of our children.
• Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and execution of a comprehensive Children's Ministry.
• Work with the Pastor and Children's Committee in determining Children's ministry goals, activities, education, and finances.
• Requires the ability to teach, counsel and give spiritual guidance to children corporately and/or individually, including the availability to lead a child to the Lord.
• Be committed to regular prayer for yourself, your Children's Ministry, and your children.
• Be responsible for actively enlisting and encouraging inactive children to become a part of the Children's Ministry and its activities.
• Teach our children to pray, read and study their Bible, be faithful to church, share the gospel with others and serve the Lord and His Church.
• Provide regular fellowships, activities, fun and outings so that the children may enjoy the fellowship of their Christian brothers and sisters in Christ.
• Plan children's fund raisers that involve the children earning some of the way.
• Keep informed on current methods, materials, promotion, and administration of Children's ministry, utilizing them where appropriate.
• Comply with, as well as teach the children to comply with, all established church policies, dress codes and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws.
• Keep the Pastor and Church advised and informed of all children activities.
• Manage/maintain the Children's Fund checking account and submit a written financial report to be issued to the members at the quarterly Church business meeting.
• Coordinate the educational/outreach aspects for this age group. (Age group to be specified)
• Oversee, plan, and direct Children's Church.
• Develop/oversee volunteer rotation schedule.
• Procure supplies for this ministry.
• Oversee Wednesday children's classes.
• Plan/direct lesson development.
• Procure supplies for teachers Manage/maintain all materials (crafts, supplies, etc.) belonging to the Children's Dept.
• Plan and oversee Vacation Bible School, Christmas Program, and Easter EggHunt.
• Plan and oversee camps, retreats, trips, and other activities for the children including securing sponsors.
• Work with the Pastor, Youth Minister, and Music Minister in integrating children's ministries with the overall ministry goals of the church.
• Meet with the Pastor, Youth Minister, and Music Minister as needed for planning purposes.
